The University of Nebraska's abdominal bot gastric rover

We get squeamish at the sight of a Q-tip, so you can imagine our delight at the discovery of a small RC robot designed to be inserted into a small incision in the abdomen from where it can then crawl around your insides. The real kicker is the form of locomotion: two rotating aluminium cylinders whose spiral patterns allow the bot the grip your abdominal walls and move around. Luckily there's a point to this exercise, a camera which captures the ensuing carnage and allows the surgeon to perform a minimally invasive surgery, but we think we'll pass, thanks.
