Sony hammers another nail into Aibo's coffin: Vista
Oh Aibo, is this the end of your hall of fame career? You've already managed to bravely survive your put down by Sony long enough to learn how to swim, talk (in Sony's own labs), and even spawn a new generation from your fertile robotic loins. But after Sony's announcement that they will not develop or support any Aibo software -- including drivers -- under Microsoft's Vista, what are you to do? Open source community... the leash is now in your hands.

aibo has not shared the same commercial success that other sony products had, like PS3, blu-ray player, mylo, and their fabulous line of desktops. no support for vista is going to hurt sony's overwhelming community of users of the cost-twice-as-much-as-PS3 gadget.

This is disappointing. Where are the good days when it was just Microsoft & Apple hating each other. Now we have another Mac like company (or so Sony claims) that just refuses to work with the largest distributed operating system out there. If they are unable to work together I don't see how Sony is going to be able to compete.

Sigh... Why are companies getting too lazy to make drivers and etc for Vista? Is it really that difficult to do so? (Just thinking about how HP said they weren't going to release drivers for old printers onto Vista).

Sony will go into history as the company that released the most diverse line of products and technologies that nobody used or cared about. It's a shame, but it's all Sony's fault in its careless attitude towards what consumers really want.

XP drivers should still work to a certain extent on Vista, I've been using Vista through MSDN and there are quite a few products that are supported via legacy drivers.

Just to think...Aibo... My teacher has one right now and he struggles just so he can keep it. Aibo works fine, he just needs attention. Since Sony gave up Aibo for the PS3, many people are throwing away things they once loved since there are no more supplies for Aibo

I think that's not good for Vista since many Aibo's sold all over the world
