wow, RTFP. It says "You'd think... Wouldn't require..." Seeing as "You'd" is an abbreviation for would, then the sentence is,
"You would think that a 13-foot / 2 ton, cast iron Scopedog mecha would not require the services of a knee-pad wearin' festival waif, but there you have it."
So please, read your contractions correctly before schooling people on "correct" grammer.
